This is the seventh performance in the Pelee Island Music Series, an eclectic set of 7 musical performances featuring artists from Windsor and Essex County. Performers range in scope from contemporary electro-acoustic composer Trevor Malcolm, to the Majestic Brass quintet, whose repertoire includes ceremonial music and 20th century jazz. This event takes place in a disused limestone quarry en route to becoming a multi-use performance venue and amphitheatre on beautiful and charming Pelee Island, the southernmost point in Canada. Performances take place at sunset every Sunday from June to August following a reading by local authors. The event ends in time for daytrippers to catch the last ferry back to the mainland. BYOC (bring your own chair!)
The seventh concert in the series represents a partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #403, and will feature a reading of T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land, accompanied by an original commissioned composition and community voices.
